This page explains what information this website collects when you visit, why, and what choices you have.
Information you give us
When you use the contact form we receive your name, your email address and your message. We use them only to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not sell or share this information.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. These can include your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. Logs are used to keep the site running and secure.
We may count page views to understand which guides are useful. These counts are not used to identify you.
Cookies
The site itself uses only the cookies needed for it to work. Third-party services described below may set their own cookies.
Third-party services
- Retailers and affiliate networks. When you click a link to a retailer, that retailer, and any affiliate network that manages the link, may set cookies to record that you arrived from this site. What happens on their site is covered by their own privacy policy.
- Fonts. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google’s servers to download them, which shares your IP address with Google.
- Embedded content. Some pages may include content from other sites, such as videos or pins. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other site.
How long we keep information
Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to answer you and for a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs are kept for a limited time by the hosting provider.
Your choices and rights
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. To make a request, use the contact page.
Children
This site is written for adults who are shopping for gifts. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
