my partner is extremely particular about travel mugs. Must have an open at the bottom handle for easy grab and fit in car drink holder, must fit in drink holder, must keep coffee hot for hours, no push button – flip top cover. This fit the bill perfectly and he has no complaints. First time ever I found a winner!

I really like the Contigo Superior 2.0 insulated tumbler overall. It keeps my drinks hot or cold for hours, and the lid seals well to prevent leaks. The design is sleek and easy to carry around. However, I was disappointed with the handle — it’s quite weak and actually broke off after a few weeks of use. That said, most other aspects of the tumbler work great, so I’d still recommend it if you’re okay with using it without the handle. Hopefully, the durability of that part improves in future models!

This is my second purchase of this travel mug for my mom (first one purchased at a big box store. It needed to be replaced as I broke the handle). This works great! My coffee stays hot for hours and it’s easy to clean. Note, you will have to use one of those drop in tablets after a few months to soak out the stains but that’s to be expected with metal interiors). Her coffee doesn’t leak and I put this mug throw the works (it’s fallen, it’s been tipped over, been upside down, jostled in my bag). The contents stays inside and doesn’t leak. I really like this travel mug for her. The handle is really the selling point as she finds it easier to hold and drink while driving.

Quickly became our favorite to go coffee mug! Perfect size, handle is firm, lid is tight on, keep it hot for hours, the mouth piece pops up for easy drinking and easily clicks closed to lock it up and not spill. It has fell over in the car with lid on and mouthpiece closed and absolutely nothing spilled! Highly recommend!

Not a convenient mouthpiece to drink. I find it easier to remove the cover totally to drink as the design is flawed. Temperature regulation seems ok though.

I have had with all Contigo products and won’t buy anything from the brand again. This mug handle started feeling odd within a month. It was so loose stopped using it after six months. I was afraid it would break off. It’s sitting in the back of the cupboard with the others that became unusable because I thought the extra lids may be handy. The worst loose handled one was purchased less than a year ago. The others are probably about a little over year old. Because I have eight or ten of them, (my family uses them every day), the first lose handle didn’t scare me, but now all of them are feeling lose to some degree. They all have to be replaced. I don’t think we will ever buy this brand again. I have depended on the Contigo brand for years. I have purchased every style at one time or another and I have some mugs that are over ten years old. I have the cold drink glasses that you can pack in lunch boxes without leaking. Those lids broke within three months. I have had problems with the lids leaking on some versions of the mugs. It seemed like the older ones were made much better than the newer ones. I have thrown out many of their expensive mugs because buying the replacement lids didn’t seem worth the cost. They are very expensive, and replacing the lids on older mugs with the higher quality metal bottom parts, didn’t seem worth it. The decline in quality has been so disappointing. Custom service is terrible and frustrating. This isn’t my go brand anymore I don’t think I will ever buy a Contigo product again. I was amazed at the experience with another brand that I decided to try. Simple Modern has my vote now. High quality products and great customer service if you need them.
Update. An out of town guest mistakenly pulled the mug from a cabinet where I had put the ones with loose handles, thinking that I might eventually try to fix them since most were only about 10 months old. She was badly scalded and I feel awful enough to update this review. These mugs are dangerous.

Love this cup. Keeps the temperature of coffee for house. It’s easy to clean. I recommend this for coffee drinkers.

I’ve used several Contigo mugs over the years, and while most are good, not all of them live up to their leak-proof claims. That’s not the case with this version, it truly seals air tight. I’ve never had a single drop leak—even when it’s tossed in a bag, laid sideways in the car, or dropped on the sidewalk.
Despite the handle, its fairly lightweight. One thing adore is how long it keeps my coffee at that perfect temperature. I have even been so busy I couldn’t drink my coffee till lunch and it was still piping hot. No exaggeration needed—this model actual is leak proof and will keep your coffee warm.
If you’ve been burned by mugs that promise to be leak-proof and aren’t, or say they’re insulated but barely hold heat, this model is worth trying. It’s simple, solid, and does exactly what you expect it to do.

First, understand that the obvious place to drink from ( where you lift up the tab) Is not Where you A sip from It is actually the air release. The part you drink from is what looks like the air hole on the opposite side! So don’t try to force that tab up high enough to drink from because it’s just for air release. So another reviewer that couldn’t figure this out so I thought I’d mention. Second, the handle is very lightweight and does not appear to be made well. Seems fine right now but I feel like it’s going to not last very long. Third, and the reason for my three stars, is that the lid seems much harder to thread on than any I have had in the past. I love that this is actually leak proof, but the lid often threads wrong so I get spillage. If you put the lid on correctly it will not leak, it just has a weak thread system which causes it got to work properly sometimes. Anyway, I really like this when it works correctly it just doesn’t seem like it’s designed for someone left handed because I’m always threading it off. As for the liquid, keeps it hot pretty long. I can stick this in the dishwasher which is nice. The size is also good.
