Let me start by saying that I have tried more than my fair share of hair curling tools over the years. From traditional curling irons to the newest automatic gadgets, I’ve experimented with almost everything on the market. My most recent purchase before trying the Tymo was a curling iron from Laniege, which I actually found pretty easy to use and was generally happy with.
However, after using the Tymo, I can honestly say there is a noticeable difference in the quality of curls it produces. The curls from the Tymo look smoother, more defined, and they actually last longer throughout the day. What really sets this tool apart is how beginner friendly it is. I am not someone who wants to spend a lot of time doing my hair. If it takes more than ten minutes, I usually skip it altogether. With the Tymo, I can finish curling my whole head in under that time, which is a huge plus.
The device does most of the work for you. You simply place a small section of hair into the narrow slot, and it automatically curls it and even beeps when it is done. It really takes the guesswork out of curling, which is perfect for someone like me who just wants quick and reliable results without fuss.
The only downside I have noticed is that you cannot put too much hair into the tool at once. You need to work with smaller sections, which can feel a little tedious if you are in a big rush. Also, when curling your own hair, especially the back sections, it can be a bit tricky to maneuver your hair into the slot properly.
That being said, I often help my daughter curl her hair, and I find it much easier to use on someone else than on myself. So if you are curling someone else’s hair, it is even more straightforward and effective.
Overall, this is one of the best curling tools I have ever used. It is easy, fast, and gives salon quality results without needing a ton of effort. I definitely recommend it, especially for busy people or anyone who struggles with traditional curling irons.

I bought this for my very thick, long, wavy gray hair, fully expecting to be as disappointed as I have been with so many other styling tools. Imagine my surprise when it actually worked exactly as promised! My curls are uniform, bouncy and smooth. The tool itself is light weight, perfect for my arthritic hands. The procedure is as stupid-proof as can be, and (for me at least) had a mercifully short learning curve. An added bonus is that it’s dual voltage, so I can take it to Europe. I’m very pleased with this product.

I have to say, this is one of my favorite products I have purchased in a LONG time. I had kind of giving up on my hair ever holding a curl again. I think my hair has changed a little bit with age. But this curling iron REALLY works! Held a curl for two days the first time I used it. Previously, my hair wouldn’t even hold a curl for two hours! I don’t know the magic of it, but so happy I gave it a try. I am also not one who likes complicated products or anything that takes a long time. My hair is about 5″ past my shoulders and this curling iron curls it in no time at all and is so easy to use. Definitely5/5 starts!!

Well! I am what you would technically call, cack-handed. I have tried many MANY curlers that promise easy curls and this kept showing on my social media so i was so tempted, it was already affordable but there was a discount yesterday so clearly, thats a sign right? So i bought it. It arrived and within 10 minutes of it turning up i wanted to see if it lived up to the hype. 20 minutes. Thats all it took for me to curl my whole head. I do have just below shoulder length average hair, i still needed help with sectioning but i was at work, at home ill use clips. Its worth every penny. So easy to use straight out of the box without needing instructions. Watch a couple of online videos (there are thousands) and you learn quickly what to do. Curls are exceptional, and the process was quick. Not as quick as some online videos suggest, but I have a lot of hair and it was my first time so it will only get quicker. Took about 30 minutes to do my whole head.
Actual product is lightweight and very functional, great neutral colour and not too bulky. I recently bought the Dyson Coanda 2x for curls for AUD$899 and returned it in 4 days as the curls didn’t hold more than 30 minutes. This product cost me AUD$135 and it was just as easy and the curls have lasted. Very impressed and highly recommend.

I love the ease-of-use and “one-handed-ness” of the product. It cuts down on overall curl time and reduces frizz (of the curls) compared to conventional hot irons. I’ve used it quite a few times now and prefer the results of my traditional hot iron. Because I’m not able to get as close to the top of my head, the curls hold a different shape. I also find that after the first day, they’ve turned into a “curl blob” defined at the lower portion of the hair. Although it has cut down on frizz of the actual curls, it leaves top of my head more frizzy and “wonky” because I’m not able to reach high enough to get to those pieces. TL/DR: I’ll reach for this when I’m short on time, but much prefer the results and control of my traditional hot iron
