These are certainly bright enough for their size and easy to install. Just be sure the metal mounts are lined up with the magnet symbols on the light before installing, as the magnet does not run the length of the device but instead consists of two isolated magnets.

One irritating shortcoming is that the motion sensor does not keep the light shining uninterrupted even though the motion is uninterrupted. What appears to happen is the unit senses motion and kicks on its 20 second on cycle. After 20 seconds the cycle is complete and the light goes out. The sensor immediately notices your motion and turns the light right back on. So even if you are dancing the hula right in front of it, it’s going to blink off and back on every 20 seconds. This is not a fluke isolated to just one of the three units.

I didn’t pay top dollar for these, so I can’t expect top dollar performance, but neither were they the cheapest lights offered.

My original review dinged the product because one unit that I mounted under the cabinets on one side of the kitchen sink worked fine, but the one under the opposite cabinet would only come on if I gestured wildly in front of it, and then still maybe not. I later realized there was too much ambient light on the temperamental side and the units save battery by not coming on if the room isn’t dark. I devised a shield out of cardboard to mask the offending light source and the unit now works fine, and the cardboard is not visible under the counter.

Sunburn in the look, size and battery life. Love that they are rechargeable. Easy to hang and remove to charge. Definitely a great purchase.

These are the perfect thing over dark closet doors. The charge lasts a long long time. We love these.

We moved into an older home that needs remodeling, especially the kitchen. The cabinets are dark and the only window is small with the sunlight blocked by the looming side cabinets. There is no under counter lighting and only a small overhead light. Before we can jump into the remodeling adventure I needed to get some additional lighting on the countertop but didn’t want to hardwire anything since it will only be a temporary fix until we remodel. These light sticks are the perfect solution. They are inexpensive, have three levels of light intensity, charge via USB and affix with adhesive pads. (They are also magnetic but my cabinets are wooden so the secondary adhesive pad solution worked perfectly for us.) I haven’t tested the battery life yet but they worked right out of the box. Once we aligned them, it was so simple to stick them to the under cabinets (the sticky pads even give you a bit of grace time to position them just right). They take about an hour to stick tightly so if you need to recharge them just be sure to hold onto the sticks while plugging in the cord. I also purchased a five slot outlet with 4 USB ports to replace my old outdated outlet. Each stick comes with its own USB cord but it is short so just be sure to place the sticks close enough to the outlet or plan on using a longer cord. There are three settings, off, on and motion detector. I leave ours on motion detector and they turn on automatically at about ten feet and shut off after about 20 seconds if there is no additional motion. These sticks have so many uses, in a bedroom, RV, closet, etc. The hook is also handy if you don’t wish to permanently affix them. I like them so much I bought a second set. Very pleased with this purchase. They quite easily and quickly solved a frustrating issue. Enthusiastically recommend.
