A very nice sketch pad,,,,I wouldn’t hand this to a 3 year old, that will scribble away,,,a doodle pad will work for that. This pad is very nice and the paper has a good weight. I did get it for a grandchild and ended up drawing some pictures and I really liked the feel of it. I sketch quite often and I have some nice ones. Bristol, strathmore, canon and I have discovered castle’s brand is not bad either, and would be a good transition for your budding artist. Soucolors texture is smooth and therefore perfect for children and crayons or pencil sketching. The best part? Very affordable. The hardback makes it something you can take anywhere and have a good surface to work on. I want to say the pounds press for inch is 65, which isn’t bad, at this price point. I think this sketch pad will make any young artist feel special and understand the importance of savoring each page. The ring binding is really sturdy and makes turning the pages over, a breeze. No more losing much of your drawing space to the turnover crease. 100% usage of each page. I’ll say it again….I’ve been sketching for decades and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and very proud to give this to my very talented grandson, to do his story boards on. It works great with charcoals ,as well. I can’t say enough good about this sketch pad.

I have never purchased a sketchbook before so this is my first experience.
I love it! Drawing on it with a pencil is so amazing because it keeps a straight line, the paperweight is thick, I’ve only used a marker on it once and it was a calligraphy black but it didn’t bleed through, you can kind of see through it but I would need a light box if I wanted to trace on it, it feels quality to me.
The only thing I wish it had was a hard cover, it has a plastic flexible cover with a cardboard backing. I like the backing and the spiral bound feel sturdy. But the cover I wish was more sturdy. (If your cat eats plastic like mine does 🙄 he bit a hole through it the first day I got it.)
One thing I absolutely love about it and did not expect is that it has perforated pages! And I tried it they come off nice and easy just barely had to fold it back once and the tear was nice and smooth!
The color of the paper is a cream slash off white and there are a ton of pages!
I’m very happy with my purchase… But I would have given it five stars had it had a hardcover since it’s already warped (which the cat did not do it was just from use). It flops around.
I feel like for the price compared to what I would have to pay in a store this was a great value and a nice experience with my first art pad.

My daughter bought this for her friend’s birthday, and the friend is very happy with it. It is durable and the texture is just as I have seen sketch books in the box stores. So, sketching ability if fine. Not sure about watercolor quality or bleed resistance, as she is just using it to sketch with pen and pencil. Great gift for a young artist

I really like these sketchbooks and they come at a great offer from Amazon May they still buy all the pages are very nice size you can fit a couple drawings or one big sketch they’re very very nice. I’d like them so much I ordered the double pack again and gave one of my daughter I draw every day and they last me about a month or a few weeks but definitely worth it Nice pages not easy to tear The only thing that I did see a problem with is erasing maybe it’s just me but the eraser you can only use on the same spot about three times so I try not to use it too much and if you press your pencil hard enough to page will work they’re really not thick pages but enough to schedule him and I’ll probably stick with this kind for a while unless I’m doing something on occasion or differently creative. Thank you

The pages are very loose but I think that’s by design because the pages are perforated to be torn out as you draw.
Also the alcohol markers I use will bleed through the paper, but using a spare sheet under the one you’re coloring on fixes that issue. The paper is also textured. I’m not 100% if it’s good for watercolor bc I don’t personally use it but it is nice. A little thin.
I recommend this fully if you’re a pencil or charcoal artist. And it’s good for markers too.
