So, I was a bit skeptical about this thing because of the reviews I’ve read for both this device, and other listings like it. I definitely took a risk, and honestly this purchase had every chance to go wrong, but it was nothing short of excellent.
I was highly alarmed and concerned after reading about things like leakage, leaking problems, or just leaking regardless of being left on or off. I have freshly installed, high quality vinyl flooring, and so I was worried that I could end up damaging my floor. Fortunately, after having just used this machine, I can tell you that none of that was a problem, or at least it wasn’t for me.
This machine is decently quiet and runs efficiently. It automatically dispenses water and solution as you glide back and forth over the floor, while erasing surface marks and collecting debris. It does leave behind a slight film of water as it works, but it’s not one that doesn’t dry inside of 2 or so minutes. The dirty water collection cup is marked with a line to indicate the max fill level, but for whatever reason, the machine will shutdown after collecting only half and what you’d expect. Nothing to worry about really, because I was able to clean nearly my entire kitchen floor before this happened.
Due to my research, I decided not to use hot or even warm water to wash my floor as I thought it could cause damage over time. I used cool water for washing, and during the self-cleaning cycle, nothing at all went wrong. I then used hot water to run another self-cleaning cycle, and I noticed how suds will froth up but still remain inside the storeage pan, so no issue there either.
This machine is very easy to use. The design of this device is one that’s been created with ergonomics in mind, and it handles very well. Additionally, I found that after having left the brush out over night to dry, I detected no unpleasant smells whatsoever. Anyway, great machine. Super love it. I 100% recommend this MessMaster to anyone seeking to maintain the cleanliness of their home.
Update: So, I am actually returning this product but not because of any fault of the unit. I recently realized how dark my kitchen really is, and how I wish this unit had lights on it. Fortunately, Shark has a model that does. So, I’m exchanging a great product for another great product with built-in lights.

Heavy duty, haha, not even close, my kindle is more heavy duty than this machine. This is a toy.
I watched some user videos on this prior to purchasing, and it may be good for picking up fresh spaghetti, but not for any kind of stains or ground in dirt.
I ran this over my floors that had not been cleaned in a while and it did exactly nothing except made them slightly wet.
I ended up spraying clorox cleaner and dawn powerwash and scrubbing with a stiff brush to get the floors clean, then using the hydrovac to suck up the extra water and suds. Which is barely did, and only did for a minute or so before it turned off because foam activates the “full” bucket sensor.
One minute, then pull the return bucket, rinse out, start again. It takes longer to rinse out the bucket than you get running the machine.
Once you stop running it, it will instantly start leaking dirty water out the bottom, have something to set it on, or it will get the just clean parts dirty again.
The “deep clean” mode, does nothing.
This will only clean floors that are already clean and will take you longer to clean the machine out and dry it, than it would take you to just take a rag and wipe your floors.
I got this on an open box sale for $130, even that was too much for what this does, any wet/dry vac would do what I am using this for, returning. Oh, and the bottle of cleaner is only 12 oz, looks far larger in the pics.
The pic is just showing the water leaking across the floor after I turned it off.

I am in LOVE with this machine! My job at home just got so much easier and quicker!
First, let me tell you about my family: 7 rabbits live in our house(our kids show rabbits as a hobby), 2 cats, 1 pitbull, 3 kids, and a messy greasy always dragging sand and dirt in on his boots, husband. There are always messes: sand, mud, spilled sweet tea, rabbit food, chips, rabbit hair, cat hair, you name it, it has been on our wooden floor and white tile floor!
I got this today, put it together in a few snaps, added water and cleaning solution, started vac/mopping! It smells amazing, glides with ease, dries quickly-no kids to slip n slide through the house after using! Mega win on that part! It vacuumed up everything in it’s path! I did use the area rug deeper clean option as I didn’t sweep before using. And it worked amazing!
For hard stuck on messes, I went slower and let the brush do it’s thing.
I was AMAZED at how much rabbit hair and dirt was on my floors!
The floors after using, were CLEAN! They weren’t sticky with that chemical residue feeling that some cleaners can leave behind.
I will definitely be ordering more of the Shark Solution cleaner!
I did use the self cleaning option twice to make sure it was clean.
After the first use, I took the filter apart and dumped the dry dirt and debris out and removed a ton of hair and dirt, rinsed the dirty water container just like the directions suggest, then ran the self clean mode. This revealed a lot of dirt and hair that was within the roller, however, I did want to see if the self cleaner feature actually worked, so after rinsing and cleaning filter again, I ran the second self cleaning. Not too bad, self cleaning mode works!
I then took all filters and containers, rinsed them out again, removed roller and hand washed, laid it all out to dry for the next use tomorrow!
I did notice, just like any other vacuum, my long hair wrapped around the roller and had to be untangled. No biggie. That’s pretty normal.
I highly recommend this machine! I’m actually gonna see if my boss will invest in one for the vet clinic!
