I put this in on Sunday, it’s now Tuesday. So far I’m very happy with this. Installation was a little fiddly, but overall the instructions were easy to read and follow.

We originally had the cheapest Kohler model with quiet close as a replacement for a few months. Seems there was a piece missing that allowed the pins holding the seat and lid to the hinges to stay in place, and they kept popping off. Disappointing, but though it was twice the price and had to be replaced very, very soon after getting the first, so far I am very pleased with this one. It seems a lot sturdier, and is way more comfortable.

Two things to note: the easy mount anchors were super easy to install, however the screw on the second one did require me sticking my hand into the tank to make sure it was aligned. For some reason it was on an angle and the screw went through the side instead of straight down and would not catch. Took a little bit of fiddling to get it to line up properly. Easy enough to fix if not slightly annoying. Overall a much better installation than the old way.
The other “issue” was that the quick release is VERY snug, and I had to pull so hard I was afraid it would break, but it did end up popping off and going back on rather easily. I’m hoping it loosens up a bit more with repeated removals so that I don’t feel like I’m breaking something each time.

I didn’t expect to be so impressed by a toilet seat, but here we are. This Kohler model is well worth the upgrade. First off, installation was a breeze—literally took me less than 10 minutes, and I’m not especially handy. The ReadyLatch system clicks into place securely, and the included hardware felt sturdy.

The seat itself feels solid and well-made. The quiet-close lid is a game-changer (no more slamming noises in the middle of the night), and the contoured shape is actually more comfortable than the standard flat seats we had before. The grip-tight bumpers keep everything stable—no shifting around, even after weeks of use.

It looks sleek and clean in our bathroom, and the white finish matches our toilet perfectly. Honestly, this is one of those small upgrades that makes a big difference. Highly recommend if you’re looking for comfort, quality, and no-hassle installation.

I replaced my old toilet seat with the KOHLER Cachet ReadyLatch Elongated Toilet Seat, and I’m really happy with it. The installation was straightforward—no tools required, which made it a quick upgrade.

The seat feels sturdy and comfortable, with a smooth finish that’s easy to clean. The ReadyLatch mechanism keeps the seat securely in place but also makes it simple to remove when needed for cleaning.

It fits perfectly on my elongated toilet and has a nice modern look. Definitely worth the investment if you want a hassle-free, quality toilet seat!

Great replacement seat. It fits perfectly and looks exactly like the one that came with the toilet. Unfortunately the first one cracked in the middle, but it lasted over 5 years. Hopefully this one holds up.

When I woke this morning, I didn’t know that changing my broken toilet seat will be the highlight of my day. I had received the new one a few days ago and I was too lazy to do it right away. So the box stayed there, looking at me and begging for attention everytime I passed by. At one point, I was feeling guilty but you know, I had a lot of things to do, like watching a 485th episode online and watch a tutorial on how to make a swan with a face tissue.. So when I decided that today was THE day, it was obvious that the new toilet seat was super excited to finally be able to do his job. I started to remove the old one, which was pretty simple. I did the unboxing of the new one with a lot of expectations. Like “are we gonna have the same chemistry than with the other one?”, “does the new one will support me everyday like the old one?”.. Finally, after 5 minutes, the new one was in place and I stepped back to see the result. To be honest, I was totally amazed on how easy it was to change it. The fit was perfect, the quality was great. That was clearly one of the most satisfying thing to do. I was even thinking about undo everything just to do it again. And maybe keep the old one for the days that I feel useless, so I can do it again and have the feeling that I have accomplished something that not a lot of people could do… You know.. it takes some specific skills to change a toilet seat……..!

Seriously, I didn’t know what to write as a positive review, so I decided to go all in. I had a bit of time to kill in the train on my way to work. This product is a no-brainer, easy to install, and the “quiet-close seat” is definitely a must have. I paid 41$, pretty the same price as in store. It wasn’t available in store for the moment, so that’s why I ordered it on Amazon.

Looks great, highest quality materials, easy to install. Very nice finish. The ‘no slam’ feature works well and is very convenient. Commercial quality.

Good Elongated Seat. Fits the old Kohler Portrait Toilet pan well. But the Kohler Lustra Elongated is a better shape fit to the Portrait Toilet – although arguably this is a better toilet seat. I have two Kohler Portrait Toilets and bought one of these and one Lustra Toilet Seat (the Lustra is twice the price). I won’t change this Cachet toilet seat for the moment as it’s acceptable. But next time I’ll pay the extra for the Lustra toilet seat. Even though this one is a slightly better product.

Easy to install , slow close , good design. A little expensive as compared to other brands but the difference is clear.

This does not come with a tool so you will need a screw driver to install.

The box comes with a scale so you can check if it will fit your toilet seat. This was a good feature in my opinion

This is a review for the KOHLER 4636-RL-0 Cachet ReadyLatch Elongated Toilet Seat.

    The Good: Everything.

    The Bad: The instructions.

    The Ugly: Seriously, the instructions.

The Kohler ReadyLatch toilet seat is a really nice piece of work. It features a slow, soft-closing lid and seat as well. The material is plastic, but it has a good thickness and feels very firm under me when I sit down. I’m 6’2″ and 280lbs currently, and there’s not even any flex from the seat as I sit down. *Very* sturdy, indeed.
The color is a basic white, just like the porcelain on most toilets, so it matches just fine. I have to give props to their packaging. Before you even open the package, it shows you the measurements and warns you to double check and make sure it’ll fit on your toilet (and that you didn’t order the wrong shape for your toilet!).
That being said, the only downside was the instructions – there really wasn’t much of any. I’ve taken off and put on a lot of toilet seats in my time, and they’re all pretty straight forward – pop the tab on the top, grab the nut on the underside, use a screw driver to unscrew the plastic bolt from the nut, repeat on the other side, and job’s halfway done. Reverse it to install.
No problem, right? Wrong! This Kohler had a rubber encased wing nut with a tube that flared out at the end into a flat donut. What…the…okay! Let’s check instructions…uhhh…nope…okay, *sigh* let’s ask the Internet. Bingo. After hunting around the first couple search results, I found a gentleman installing one – on YouTube.
I had to sit through five minutes of someone talking about their toilet and the seat, how their seat had a crack in it, etc etc etc, until suddenly he shows me the secret! FOLD THE WINGNUT SIDEWAYS AGAINST THE TUBE, SLIP IT DOWN THROUGH THE BOLT HOLE ON THE TOILET!!!
After that, the install was very simple and straight forward. Position the toilet seat over the two bolt holes (now with a rubber tube installed and a wing nut hanging down on the other side) and install the two bolts that come with the lid.

Final Thoughts: I’ve been using it now for a bit, and I have to say – it’s different from my other lids, but I really like the design, fit and the angle of it. It’s comfortable, but not “sit on the pot and watch funny cat videos” comfortable. Overall, I’d say it’s competitively priced, and well worth the money.
