I’ve been using fake tan forever (since 1989) and this is hands down the most convenient non messy fake tan I have ever used. I bought Jergens Natural Glow in shower gradual tan so that I could keep my fake tan going during a holiday, I don’t lie in the sun because I don’t want skin cancer/aging/leathery skin. I didn’t want to have to take extra time to tan or risk getting the guide colour of my usual fake tan on clothes and bedding. I trialled the tan before my holiday and ditched my usual fake tan for this. It was brilliant, I showered every evening before going to dinner and applied Jergens. The colour isn’t the best I’ve used but it’s good, the smell is fine too although did seem to get a bit stronger after using every day for a fortnight. It doesn’t colour towels, bedding or clothes as far as I can see. I have found that I get the best most even results if I use a damp facecloth over my wet body to mop up excess water before application and then air dry before dressing. I’ve also used the lighter colour but find this darker shade more suited to my needs.

I used to use this product a decade ago or more, so I decided to try it again. I’m on a budget and need a white girlie tan! 😆 This in-shower lotion was under $10! I’ve always liked the tan I get from Jergen’s gradual self-tanners, both the lotion and this product. I feel like this one is a little quicker to develop compared to the regular lotion.
I attached a pic of my leg 3 days apart. I applied “medium to deep” after my bath 2 nights in a row. I noticed a subtle glow the first time, and now I think I’ve achieved the light tan I was going for! I don’t want to look too dark or fake, so now I’ll just maintain it by applying it every 2-3 days.
It doesn’t stink nearly as much as others do. It’s a little perfumey, but I like it. I haven’t gotten too many streaks or patches. No color on my clothing or sheets. When I wake up, I smell a faint fake tanner smell, but it washes away. If I can’t shower right away (like when I have to take my son to his bus stop), I just wipe off with wipes and use a smelly lotion…. It works!
My tips: Apply it to freshly wet skin, but start with a quarter-size amount. I do my upper body first, use the leftover on my hands to apply to my face, then do my lower half. I avoid going between toes and fingers. On the second night, I also avoided my knees, ankles, and elbows. If you have dry skin, apply a small amount of regular lotion to those areas first (even on damp skin). Scrub any areas that look too saturated to achieve an even tan.
Slightly orange in pics, but in person it has a healthy glow and looks richer! Makes me feel more confident in shorts and at the gym. ☀️

Love this gradual tanner — easy to apply right after a shower and no rinse needed. Leaves a natural, streak-free glow in just a few days but does still have that self-tanner smell. It honestly is worth it for me because it is better than other tanners I’ve used. Perfect for keeping some color year-round. Will definitely continue to purchase.

It turned out a bit orange. Just a bit. I notice but I’m not sure others would necessarily. It’s easy to use with good results if you are careful to apply with a circular motion and you don’t go in with a heavy glop. Start with a smaller dab, maybe a quarter of a teaspoon to cover the front of your lower leg. When your skin is wet the product covers a large area. Check later in the day or next to see if you spread evenly. Good luck. I think I am happy, I haven’t let it wear off yet!

I got my tan back and it looks awesome!! I can’t say enough good things about this stuff! I am a product of the eighties, back when laying out in the sun all day followed by a stint in a tanning bed was the norm. Years and years of excessive exposure to UV and UB rays netted me the lesser evil of skin cancer all over myself. My face, my arms, my back. I haven’t worn white in years because you can see the sores. The treatments make them that much worse and I hide in long sleeves etc. I gave up the tanning beds 10 years ago. Naturally, I am a pasty white with freckles and strawberry blonde hair. For years and years I have tried every sunless tanning lotion only to end up looking very orange, Must be my natural red tones. For the last 3 summers, I have used Jergen’s Natural Glow daily moisturizer, but have had to add regular lotion to it so it didn’t go on so thick and make me look even orangier. It also always accentuated my sun marks and age spots, never giving an even coverage. I really looked hideous as I only did what was exposed in the hot months, like my face, neck, arms and legs. I was intrigued when I found they had a different one that you could apply to wet skin. I read the reviews, they were good, not great, but I’ll try anything to get my tan back. Fast forward……. OMG! Now I know why I tanned in the first place. This stuff makes me look like what I used to years ago. I am glowing! The coverage is even, thorough, and actually tan, not orange. It does not make my damaged skin look any redder where I have spots. This new stuff is awesome!!! So much easier and faster to apply than the lotion cause it’s going on wet skin. I did get streak marks the first time, but have found the more you rub in, the better the outcome. And a little goes a very long way. I look sun kissed:) I just celebrated my 51st birthday. Someone actually said I look like I’m in my late 30’s, early 40’s! I no longer see any age or sun spots and my skin is so soft too. For any doubter’s out there, I have tried them all. Really, I have. So far this is my favorite faux tan and I have no reason to look any further. Get your tan on!!
