I bought one of these this summer. It worked out great for repotting. Some of my plants was a better price than the ones I’ve seen on TV that they’ve been selling. Worked out just fine. There is different sizes too.

I love this little mat! It makes for easy cleanup when I am done repotting my houseplants. It isn’t large, so I can just pick it up and take it outside to dump any leftover dirt. It prevents a mess from dirt falling everywhere and folds up nicely for storage.

These are great for repotting, but are also great for the back of my SUV when I transport messy stuff.
It is thick..not flimsy. I like that it can lie flat or the corners can be shaped up to create sides that can contain messes.

Helps to organize seeds, dirt and plants in the garden and greenhouse. Lightweight, durable, affordable and reusable. Highly recommended, would buy again.

Let me introduce you to Matt the Mat. Yes, I named my indoor potting mat. Don’t judge me—he’s earned it.
I bought Matt off Amazon during a late-night scroll fueled by caffeine and a questionable amount of optimism about becoming a “plant person.” The price? So low I thought it was a typo. I half expected it to arrive made of recycled napkins and broken dreams.
But lo and behold, Matt showed up like a hero in a padded envelope. Unassuming. Foldable. Waterproof. Ready to catch the chaos of my overzealous repotting adventures.
Before Matt, my indoor gardening looked like a crime scene. Soil in the grout. Perlite in my coffee. My cat mistaking spilled fertilizer for a new litter box. My spouse issued a formal cease-and-desist on all indoor horticulture.
Then came Matt. He lays flat like a yoga master, catches every rogue root and rebellious speck of dirt, and folds up like a burrito when I’m done. No mess. No stress. No more passive-aggressive notes from my partner taped to the sink.
Matt is more than a mat. He’s a lifestyle upgrade. A silent guardian of cleanliness. A soil-slinging sidekick. He’s the Batman of botany.
Would I recommend him? Absolutely.
Would I buy him again? Already did—for my mom, my neighbor, and that one coworker who keeps trying to propagate succulents in a cereal bowl.
Thanks, Matt. You’re the real MVP.

And, I suppose, pretty nice even if you do have such a bench! But my setup right now is potting supplies in a few boxes on a shelf in the garage, and I’ve got to do repotting in the kitchen. I appreciate that this mat can be folded down to fit at the top of a pretty full storage box, thanks to clever snaps that remove the need for “hardwalls” to keep in the dirt when it’s in use.
If you have the room, I’d say get at least the 43.5 X 29.5″ — or really as big as you can accommodate, unless you are only going to be working with teensy plants. It’s easy enough to wipe down or wash in a bathtub, if needed. Doesn’t look like it’s going to be too susceptible to tears, although I wouldn’t use it as a plant carrier or any such.

This makes repotting easier. I had to use soap and water to try and kill ants that invaded a pot of begonias. The tray held the potting soil and liquid so it was easy to throw away. My plant was a little large, 10 inch, it would be even easier with smaller plantings.
