This ice maker is great. It is very quiet. It is very easy to use. You can fill the reservoir tank with about 4 cups of water and makes about 2 full baskets of ice. Each full basket fills up pretty quick. Less then 10 mins to make ice. Entire family loves it. Sits perfectly on the counter. The ice maker has definitely paid for itself since we no longer have to buy bags of ice. Super convenient to have such an efficient little ice maker.

This only freezes ice for a few hours. The ice needs to be emptied frequently or it will melt and leave water all over the floor. I returned and had to pay $90 for shipping. I don’t feel like the description of this product is acquerate.

Can’t live without books –
We got this ice maker for the summer time. Our fridge doesn’t have a built in ice maker, looked around, and decided to give this one a try. Very simple setup, fill up water, power on, and select the ICE size (large or small). Every 8 mins will make 8 ice cubes. When 1st starting, the ice cube is on the smaller size, after powered on for more than 30 mins, the ice cube will get to the correct size. I guess it needs a little time to warm up. We don’t need a dedicated ice maker 24/7, so this is prefect. We take take it out, only when we need it, and just in mins we got ice going. During winter time, we can just box it up, and store it out of the way. Glad we got this!!

Minding my time –
Robustly but simply made, ownership and usage of this product gives reason to believe that this ice maker should last a long time. Simple design with no gimmicks! Just know that you will need an air-gap gravity drain setup for this; this model does not have a built-in drain pump to push melted ice water uphill. As far as the noise level of this item; same or quieter than the previous countertop ice makers that I’ve owned, which doesn’t bother my home life at all.
The lining of the box, where the ice resides, is not a refrigerated surface nor are there any fans to blow refrigerated air around. It’s a simple design it spits out lots and lots of nugget ice and when it piles up in the tray high enough that the ice mound encompasses the shiny metal thermocouple hanging downward, the temperature drops and the compressor stops making new ice. The ice will slowly melt and the unit will kick back on as needed to replenish that beautiful mountain of ice nuggets.
As far as the purchase price goes: I should have bought this model design years ago, ALL OF THE SMALLER ONES, that I’ve owned, HAVE FAILED THREE OUT OF THREE… I’ve learned that if it doesn’t have a melted ice drain, the melted ice gets pumped back up and recycled and refrozen. If the freshly made ice is not removed for consumption, it continues that melting and refreezing loop and the pumps go bad and another problem is they have bacteria growing in them very quickly. It’s too difficult in my opinion to keep those drainless type of ice makers clean and producing good tasting nugget ice.

I am not sure why I waited so long to purchase an icemaker. Finally made the decision and after reading several reviews on different sites we selected this one. We love it!! It was a simple setup and is easy to use! My favorite feature is the selection of small or large ice cubes. They come out an excellent size and its nice to have fresh ice for drinks versus old ice that sits in your freezer open. Especially if you have well water like us! We put the ice into ziploc bags to keep it fresh and also put a small freezer pack in the machine when we are making ice so we don’t have to empty it several times when making batches. If you are buying bags of ice at the grocery store, then I would advise getting this machine. It will pay for itself and if you are like me I have also paid for bags of ice, then walked off and forgot them at the store!

Everything works perfectly and the ice is awesome. What isn’t awesome at all is that the most common US residential plumbing sink fitting (1/2″) isn’t what’s supplied. So….a trip to a plumbing store for 1/2″ sharkbite fitting, hose and splitter will likely be in your future.

After 1 week so far so good. Let me tell you this bad boy makes a ton of ice. You will never run out of ice in your house again. I have so much ice that I have to empty it into coolers outside lol. I also added an in-line water filter since the ice maker doesn’t come with one. The ice comes out, super clear and tastes great.
