Had the vacuum for a few days now, and it’s exactly what I needed! Live with my girlfriend in a ~900sqft 1bed apt, and we were looking for something to spotclean occasionally that’s not our monstrous plug-in. Our dream is a Dyson, but definitely overkill in price right now. So we decided to give this B&D cordless a shot, and for $40CAD, it’s PERFECT for our small apartment.
USE CASE Love using this after we cook a big meal, and every couple of days on the bathroom where hairs get everywhere… and just dusty places in general! Unless you have a 400sqft studio, this will not be sufficient for a comprehensive clean of your house, but great for getting those couch crumbs and just errant dust and whatever. It makes a huge difference!
SUCTION & BATTERY Haven’t noticed anything that it can’t do, but we don’t make big messes and don’t have pets. Hair, crumbs, and dust goes right in. The vacuum is triggered by a button on your thumb, so you can be pretty efficient with battery usage—there’s no noticeable “start-up lag”, stuff pretty much comes in right when you press the button. I did a session yesterday going pretty hard for about 10 minutes, and didn’t notice a dropoff.
EMPTYING & FILTER The filter is kind of a pain to clean. All the stuff clumps on the filter and you have to remove it by hand at minimum every other time you do a serious vacuum. You can’t just shake it off. The filter is re-washable with soap and hot water, and they say to replace it every 6-9 months.
SPACE/STORAGE We rent our apt, so we’re being hesitant right now about wall-mounting, but it’s fine just setting it horizontally on the ground as well to charge. There’s no “plug in” charge option—you have to use the dock, which is a little tricky at first but pretty stable even lying flat.
VALUE At time of purchase this was $40 without coupons, and it’s starting to seem like a huge deal compared to everything else which is either from an unproven Chinese brand. Only question is longevity, but if this thing lasts at least a year with decent suction, everything else will be a bonus. Thanks to B&D for making such an affordable and useful product!

I fell for this product based on other positive UK reviews but it does not come with a UK comptible plug and then Amazon expected me to mail it back to Indianapolis! I fought my corner and got a refund but its left me with a new vacuum to dispose of which is not an eco solution and I still have to purchase an item that actually works in this country. Why oh why do Amazon UK even stock this item in their store knowing full well it is not an item that can be used unless you are planning to take a hand vac on holiday to the States with you…..

Horrible vaccum. DO NOT BUY!! I had it for about a month and a half. The first half of the month was great then all of a sudden it stopped holding a charge. I bought one way cheaper and that one lasted way longer than this one. Does not hold a charge at ALL!! Is not automatic either. You have to continuously hold the button. I only rated this 5 stars so this could be seen. DO NOT BUY IT WILL STOP WORKING AFTER 30 DAYS OF USE!!

The vacuum has good suction, charges quickly, and appears to be easy to use for some things. It’s probably great for quick spills and cleanup that only takes a second. However, because the power button has to be held down in order to operate, it makes it difficult to use for more than just a few seconds or in areas where you need to twist and turn to access, such as in the car or in the crevices of your furniture. I returned it mainly because the power button has to be continually pressed in order for it to function: it’s not a switch that can be left on. I found this very uncomfortable to use, especially given the button placement and the weight of the vacuum: it’s not exactly heavy, but all the weight is in the front, and having to hold down the button meant it was uncomfortable to operate for more than a few seconds. I’ve returned it and am looking for something that is more ergonomic and comfortable to hold in various situations without having to press and hold the power button. All of that said, many of you will likely find this nice little unit exactly what you need. Dont pass it up if the power button isn’t an issue for you.

I recently tried out this handheld vacuum, and I have to say, its suction power is impressive! It picks up everything from dust to larger debris with ease, making it perfect for quick cleanups around the house or in the car. The battery life is also fantastic—it lasts a solid amount of time, so you don’t have to worry about constantly recharging it in the middle of a cleaning session. However, the only downside I’ve encountered is the charging process. It can be a bit tricky to get it positioned just right on the charger, which can be a bit frustrating. Despite this minor inconvenience, I still think it’s totally worth it because of how well it performs. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a strong, long-lasting, portable vacuum!

I bought 2 of these little vacuum’s when they were on sale for $20/ea – Just thought I’d try them and WOW what a DEAL!! I have a kitty, and the litter drives me crazy – so bought one for both levels of my home. They work GREAT, you push a button, and they suck up all the litter and “outside” that gets tracked in as well. What I love 2nd SO MUCH is that it is SO easy to dump the stuff – you take off the bottom part by pushing a button and lift out the little filter and dump- the filter is super easy to clean, and stuff comes off easily from it then put it back together and you’re done. Also love that the filter blocks all the stuff from getting into the motor part of the vacuum. I can’t say how much easier this has made spot cleaning for me! Just TRY it!

I have ran across several problems with this vacuum and truthfully it belongs in the garbage. The vacuum does not hold a charge for more than 15 minutes even if kept on the charger all day. Big waste of money and I will no longer buy Black and Decker products.
ORIGINAL: Good purchase works well, but I need to get used to holding the on switch down. For a little vacuum it has great power and pick up and it’s also very easy to clean after using. It would be better if the noise level wasn’t so loud but pick up for this little vacuum works great. Very durable and easy to get around. Storage is no problem and the speed of the vacuum is great.
