These are easy to use and have nice vibrant colours. I am not an artist, but there was a little chip off a plastic coated IKEA side table that was bothering me, so I just wanted a little white to make it less noticeable, and then I tried it on my metal key. Love that there are two tips on each pen and that the paint spreads on in a nice opaque layer easily. Colours are great (except I don’t really need both a light yellow and a darker one). I wish it came in a case where I could see all the colours lined up, like a flat tin with an attached lid or something, but I guess the cardboard box is a good choice from an environmental standpoint and a case may have added to the cost. Shows up great against black backgrounds. If it seems like a tip is dried out, keep trying it – I think it might just be that it needed a little more time to saturate whereas most other tips were ready to go right away. Even on the same pen, one side was slow to get going and the other side ready and the paint flowed. There is a method on the box for removing the tip and soaking it in water too.

This is a great alternative to the paints when using them for rocks it’s very neat. You get a great selection and it’s accurate less likely to bleed and drip. Only two issues are the color are limited for using on rocks not all of them show through well., my opinion, and price could be lower maybe a smaller set with less variety that is cheaper that is vibrant for rocks at a good economical price when the paints are very inexpensive. However this set is nice. I had some problems with my return order that may have been related to amazon. Ease of use was great 100 percent and quality as well 100 percent.

Get an accurate color chart and labels, and they’d be 5 stars.
