Really like this Owala SmoothSip tumbler overall. The design is cute (the Pink Pucker Up color is even better in person), and it does a great job keeping coffee hot or iced for hours. The stainless steel feels solid, and the SmoothSip slider lid is comfortable to drink from and doesn’t leak in normal use. The slider can be a little stiff at times, and I am a little worried that the snap part will break soon.

I absolutely love this Owala bottle. It keeps my drinks cold for hours, even on hot days, and the lid design is super convenient and leak-proof. Just received this mug/tumbler, and I’m impressed enough with it to want to mention a few things about it.
Pro:
~The first impression is that this is a quality product, solid and hefty (okay, the latter might be a small con for some; at about 10-1/2 oz empty, it does weigh more than you’d expect for its size). ~The top screws on very smoothly, much more so than my long-time favorite Contigo tumbler whose more rubbery top takes a little more effort to screw on.
~The design of the sipping spout makes it surprisingly comfortable to put ones lips around.
~The fact that it’s spill-proof, although being the prime reason I bought this, is still worthy of mention. As much as I liked the similar-sized Corksicle “wine tumbler”, two spills on my clothes while carrying it prompted me to search for and find this Owala.
~Its matte texture is both nice-looking and feeling.
~The various printed instructions that came with it (mainly for disassembling the lid) were well-written by an English speaker as opposed to being an awkward translation from Chinese like so many things that are manufactured in and come, as this does, from China.
Cons: (note that I probably should take a star off this rating, but (a) who reads 4-star reviews? And (b) in the overall scheme of things, these cons really don’t matter)
~Disassembling the lid for cleaning is not intuitive and a little awkward the first time you do it, despite the good instructions. On the other hand, it’s good that it can be done because spill-proof lids do have a habit of getting “gunky.” This one won’t.
~Having to press down to slide the lid open and the fact that it doesn’t snap back closed, but has to be pushed back is less smooth than say, the spill-proof Contigo lid that open and closes with simple thumb pressure when sipping from it. That said, the Contigo is harder to clean and much more prone to getting gunked up.
~Finally, the one major nit I have to pick is that a little rubber disk that *should* be on the bottom of the tumbler to prevent its sliding, marring furniture, and keeping the bottom of the tumbler from scratching is not there; the disk does exist, but has to be purchased separately for 6 bucks (for two of them), which is not only odd but seems pretty petty, don’t you think?

I really love the color of this coffee tumbler, it’s vibrant, stylish, and looks great to carry around. It keeps my coffee warm for a good amount of time, which is perfect for daily use.
In my personal opinion, it doesn’t keep heat quite as long as Yeti, but it still performs well overall. The design is definitely a highlight. The lid closes tightly and feels secure. Even when the cup is turned upside down, the liquid does not leak out, which gives me confidence when carrying it in my bag.
Overall, it’s a beautiful and practical tumbler that combines good performance with a very attractive design.

I LOVE this cup!!! As someone who likes to just throw stuff in my bag, this cup is completely leak proof and can be upside down in my bag and not spill. I’ve used it for both hot and cold drinks, it keeps it cold or hot for at least 4 hours–I can’t attest to any longer since I usually drink it within that time frame.
It’s a little on the pricey side, but the quality is totally worth it. It’s also super easy to clean as you can fully disassemble it and clean all the components. It’s very functional and aesthetically pleasing. I love Owala products in general, and this is no exception.

Keeps my coffee hot, really good to drink from, doesn’t leak. Love the size. Usually with the 12 oz, it is filled to the brim making it difficult to put the lid on, this one allows me to have plenty of space at the top.

I’ve been using the Owala SmoothSip Slider tumbler for a bit now, and I really love it. It keeps my coffee hot for hours .. way longer than I expected .. and the outside doesn’t get weirdly hot to the touch.
The SmoothSip lid is probably my favorite part. It’s comfortable to drink from and actually feels smooth (not bulky or awkward like some travel mugs). The slider is easy to open and close, and it doesn’t leak when it’s tossed in my bag.
It’s also just a really nice looking tumbler. Simple, clean design, and it feels sturdy and well made. Definitely one of the better coffee tumblers I’ve owned.

I couldn’t be more happy with this. I’ve had so many travel mugs that leak, or the piece covering the opening isn’t secure enough and spills. This one is the perfect size for a cup of coffee with room for creamer, keeps my coffee hot, and the opening is genius. While it does say to keep it upright, I’ve been able to toss it in my bag without worrying if it’s going to fall over and spill. This was my first time buying from Owala and I understand the hype. The pink is really cute and I appreciate the fun color options.
