Okay, I’m a fan! I decided to go without nail polish for the first time in a year. My nails looked awful without polish – yellowed, with big ridges and ragged cuticles. They are also brittle as are many older peoples. I was looking for a way to care for them during my polish break and maybe improve their appearance a little bit. I’ve never cared too much for the other nail creams and oils I’ve used, but This. Is. Good. After just a few days of use, my cuticles are smoother, my nails feel moisturized and stronger, and they just look better.
So glad I bought this! I put it on every time I wash my hands. Love the scent too.

Llevo 2 meses usándola todos los días y si me ha funcionado, no es inmediato pero las uñas crecen más rápido y son más fuertes 🙂 la verdad dura muchísimo ya que con poca cantidad se hidratan bien, las uñas tienen mejor color, textura. Plus: huele muy bien 🙂

This stuff is so good! I am healing my nails after abusing them with press on nails the past few years. I had been soaking my nails repeatedly with a Sally Hansen Vitamin E cuticle oil and it was not doing much at all. I just got this Hard as Hoof and after just one use noticed a huge difference. Its been about 24 hours and I’m hooked! The directions say to use it 3 times a day or as needed. It’s a super creamy texture so a little bit goes a long way. Feels a little greasy at first but soaks right in leaving the skin/cuticle around my nails feeling super moisturized and protected. I got the Island Coconut scent and it’s pretty, not obnoxious, but they also have a cherry almond and unscented I believe. If you’re on the fence, try it, you won’t regret it.

I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with my nails. They’ve always been prone to breaking, peeling, and chipping When I stumbled upon Onyx Hard as Hoof strengthening nail cream, I admit I was skeptical, but my desperation won out. And let me tell you, I am so glad it did.
From the first application, I was pleasantly surprised. The cream itself isn’t greasy and absorbs fairly quickly, which is a huge plus for someone who’s constantly on the go. Honestly, I didn’t follow the directions. At first, I started applying it just once a day, before bed.
Within a week, I started noticing a difference. My nails, which usually felt flimsy and would bend easily, felt noticeably firmer. The peeling, my biggest nemesis, seemed to be less frequent. By the end of two weeks, I was genuinely impressed. My nails were not only stronger, but they also looked healthier. They had a natural sheen to them that I hadn’t seen in years.
Now, after using Onyx Hard as Hoof for a little over three months, I can confidently say this stuff is a game-changer. My nails are significantly harder – I can actually tap them without fear of them bending or breaking. I haven’t had a break, split or chip in weeks. I began using hard as hoof in September 2023. Others here say they saw results in as little as a week or 2, but once nails have grown you cannot thicken them, you have to wait for new regrowth. However if used daily in 1-2 weeks you can definitely notice a difference to your cuticles, they’ll be less dry and you’ll notice very few to no hangnails. As I’ve been using it for 9 months now my nails have now grown all the way out at least twice. Along with taking a biotin supplement daily for the past 6 months and fish oil capsules, (so it may be all 3 working together not just hoof) my nails are much much thicker than they ever have been. They used to be extremely flexible and susceptible to tearing, and now I rarely ever get a tear or break no matter how small. This is also helped by keeping my nails filed in a rounded shape and avoiding using clippers, just a glass file.
All in all hard as hoof probably does great for moisturising and preventing breakage on its own but potentially combining it with biotin and fish oil can lead to even more excellent results, just a tip! But even without the supplements I 100% recommend. I have been using it at least twice a day.

It does work! I had thin and peeled nails from getting acrylic and gel nails. So I cut my damaged nails to nubs, and would apply this about 3x daily for 2 weeks, then cut off any nail growth to nubs again and continue that until all the nailbed scarring and uneven layers grew out. It smells good, moisturizes the nail, undernail and cuticles and makes them soft. I have naturally thin nails from a lifetime of nail-biting, anemia and genetics but I’ve been applying this almost everyday at least once at night and my thin nails have only chipped significantly twice! However it wasn’t just this I used: keep your nails very short for a few months as to allow the nail to get stronger and not break while healing. Use cuticle oil after applying to lock in the moisture overnight, and keep them well trimmed and sanded when they do eventually chip and peel from older damage.

This review is the first step in a series of reviews. If I dont do it this way, I will forget entirely, and if this stuff works for how bad my nails are, then others need to know.

I have been a nail biter my whole life, up until a few years ago. In higher anxiety/stress times, I catch myself starting to bite them again. Well, my husband noticed me biting my nails about 6 weeks ago and suggested I get gel nails done. So I made it a mom and daughter date to get our nails done. After 3 weeks, I had to remove them. And let me tell you, I am never getting gel nails again. My nails are flimsy, thin and overall weaker than they have ever been before. I need help with them, so I searched for days before landing on this product. Now, I only really have time to apply once or twice a day, so my progress will be slower than folks who apply 3 or more times. So far, I am happy with the product. I love the smell. I’ve been applying it at bedtime, so the coconut scent is extra relaxing. But my favorite part, after only a week of use, the skin around my nails is healthier, softer and stronger. So that gives me hope that this stuff will help. I did also get a fancy cuticle oil which I apply once this stuff is soaked in and my nails are dry again. I end up coating basically the entirety of my finger tips, and my calluses from playing guitar are still there, but softer. You do not need much at all, so I see this little bottle lasting a long time.
The attached photo are my nails now. The short ones and damaged nails are from my nails breaking, tearing, and chipping since I removed the gel nails. I will attach progress photos when I come back to edit my review. But so far, I am satisfied with this product. Time will tell.

Let me say, this stuff really works well. I read the reviews and this saved my nails. my nails were always breaking, and chipping on the sides. This goes a long way. I may wash my hands a lot, but I always remember to re-apply. It has a lovely scent and I just love it. You have to be consistent with it. Just like everything else, you have to be consistent. I rub it into my nails very well and on the sides. Buy it you won’t be disappointed.
